There is a battle going on not only for this country, but for the heart and soul of the Republican Party.

One side is content to keep spending, taxing, and borrowing at unsustainable levels on unconstitutional programs and more big government- as long as "their party" remains in power. This wing of the party gives credence to the claim "there's not a dime's worth of difference between the Republicans and the Democrats".

On the other side, there are those who believe that BOTH parties have been moving toward more government intervention in our personal lives and business, violating our freedom under the US Constitution, and mortgaging our children's future with immoral and irresponsible fiscal policy. We see our country headed in the wrong direction, and are greatly concerned about what lies ahead for our great nation.

The North Harford Republican Club is open to all Patriotic Americans, regardless of their party affiliation. Our goal is to return the Republican Party to its constitutional principles of personal liberty and freedom, limited government as defined by the Constitution and a return to sound fiscal practices. Although we sympathize and agree with many of the views held by Libertarians, Constitution Party, Independents, and others, we believe the most effective vehicle to advance our principles is the Republican Party. We do not see ourselves as radicals, but as Traditional Republicans who value the Constitution as their guiding document.

We promote these ideas by direct action and involvement in campaigns at all levels of government- from the Republican Central Committee to the US President. Although we believe friendships will be built as we work together to advance our principles, we are not primarily a social club. We are a club of action , devoted to the cause of freedom and liberty.

To that end, we solicit our members to aid directly in protests, rallies, and campaigns that are friendly to our cause. We are not a Republican Party cheerleading club- we support elected officials who are friendly to liberty, and we hold those accountable who have done otherwise during their term of elected office. When we are able to get our own house in order, then we will be in a position to restore our republic.

The deterioration of our freedom is not something that has happened overnight, and we will not fix things overnight. However, the current situation is dire, and we must be working hard and quickly to elect new representation this year, in the September 2010 primary election. We must be active in the primaries, because the direction of the local party apparatus is determined by the Republican Central Committee- these members are elected during the primary only. We must have strong candidates run for Central Committee as well as other offices throughout the state if we are to get our party and our country back on track.

Our meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at various locations in Northern Harford County, Maryland.
